The Dark Side of MLM Statistics
It is a well-known fact that the attrition rate in Network Marketing is incredibly high. Most people who join drop out within the first 6 to 12 months. But why does this happen? It's rarely the company's fault; it's usually a lack of mindset and strategy.
1. Unrealistic Expectations (The Get-Rich-Quick Myth)
Many join expecting to make $10,000 a month by doing nothing, simply because a presenter showed a shiny slide. MLM is a business. It takes 3-5 years of consistent effort to build a solid residual income.
2. Refusing to Learn Core Skills
Direct Selling requires a specific skill set: Prospecting, Inviting, Presenting, Follow-up, Closing, and Launching. If you refuse to read books, attend seminars, or practice these skills, you will fail.
3. The "Spaghetti on the Wall" Approach to Social Media
Spamming your Facebook feed with product links and joining links does not work. It only annoys your friends and family. You must learn Attraction Marketing and value-based content creation.
4. Inconsistency
Treating the business like a hobby pays hobby money (which is usually zero). You cannot work intensely for 2 weeks, take a month off, and expect your team to grow. Momentum is everything in MLM.
5. Not Being "Coach-able"
You might be a successful doctor, lawyer, or engineer, but those skills don't necessarily translate to MLM. You must empty your cup and listen to your upline mentors who have already walked the path.
